| Woodpecker is one of Mother Earth's small carvers as evidenced by all the Morse code sounds and messages left on trees, posts, houses - anything with a surface soft enough to connect with. I used Woodpecker in this little compostition as the chief instigator tatooing in the minds of this quartet of elders' masks with a variety of expressions. This bird is sometimes seen as a messenger, coming in the daylight reality of the everytday world to announce whatever calamity or good fortune that befalls humanity. Little mouse usually comes in the nocturnal hours or dreamtime and imposes his own communication to compliment his feathered brother. |
