| The White-Breasted Nuthatch, a very spirited and beautiful bird, is a tree creeper, spending much of its time in this flipped-up position. They rarely keep still long enough for me to sketch them with any detail. What allowed me to reference and capture the fine detail in the sculpture were individual frames from videos I took of them. I choose to open its left wing as it was catching its balance before hopping onto the feeder in my yard. |
